This Morning: 2016 Fitness Trends

(WLNS) —  The new year will be here in a matter of hours, and according to a new Harris poll 67% of American adults plan to make resolutions for 2016. Just about half of those making resolutions are setting fitness goals.

6 News This Morning visited the Spartan Fit Center in East Lansing to learn about new and exciting changes in the fitness world.

Owner, Tiffany Russell says technology will rule in 2016.

New gadgets such as Fitbits, Apple or Galaxy Watches, let you track your progress and communicate with your fitness instructor.

Cardio tracking, daily steps, and goals all in the palm of your hand or on your wrist!

Russell also says adding variety to your routine will help you reach those 2016 fitness goals.

Focusing on strength moves instead of cardio, and even working a partner in can keep your routine fresh and allows you to engage different muscle groups.
