LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Even the possibility of long lines and delays couldn’t deter Spartan fans as they arrived in droves at the Capital Area airport to fly down to Dallas this morning.
The members of the MSU Alumni Association were some of the first to depart from the airport this morning.
Several flights left for Dallas carrying the Spartan super fans.
Along with the alumni were the cheerleaders and the MSU marching band because, let’s be honest, you can’t win a football game without them.
For some of the band members this will be a second time playing at a bowl game and the excitement is through the roof again this time around.
“It’s a lot of fun we went there last year and had a great time and I think the biggest excitement for this one is its the playoff game this time so if we move on its gonna be really exciting,” said Spartan bandmember John Lefevre.
There will also be flights full of Spartan fans leaving mid-Michigan later this evening.
The Spartans will play Alabama Thursday night in the National Championship semi-final game.
