Schuette: Apples & oranges at stake for UM in Citrus Bowl

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – While the Michigan State Spartans are playing Alabama for a shot at the national championship, there is a crate of apples at stake when the University of Michigan plays in the Citrus Bowl.

Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette has set up a friendly wager with his counterpart in Florida.

Schuette has put up a crate of Michigan apples against a crate of Florida oranges that the Wolverines will beat the University of Florida Gators in the Citrus Bowl New Year’s Day.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi says beating Michigan will be as easy as apple pie, which she plans to enjoy after the Florida Gators win.

Schuette says he is looking forward to enjoying fresh-squeezed orange juice after the Wolverines come out victorious over the Gators.

The game is scheduled for 1:00pm January 1 from Orlando.
