UPDATE: Police ID two people who died in fiery car crash into tree

UPDATE (8:30 p.m. Dec. 31) – The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office has identified two people who died Saturday, Dec. 26 after a car accident. James Michael Huey, 19 of Leslie was driving the car eastbound on Plains Rd. near Meridian Rd. when the car hit a deer. The car then left the roadway before hitting a tree head on before catching on fire. The second person killed in the accident has been identified as 22-year-old Anthony Charles Adams II of Pleasant Lake. Officials are awaiting toxicology results.

UPDATE (4 p.m. Dec. 28) – The Ingham County Sheriff’s Office says an uninvolved driver saw the car smoldering against a tree and called 911. When deputies arrived on scene, they found two people dead who had been burned in the crash. Ingham County officials are working to identify the people who died and notify their families. The cause of the crash has not been determined at this time.

(WLNS) – Two people are dead this morning after their car hit a tree at the intersection of Plains and Meridian Roads.

Ingham County Sheriff’s Department responded to the crash around 6:30 AM and closed off the area for a few hours to continue investigating the scene.

Ingham has not released names or details on the cause of the crash as of now, but stay with 6 News for updates on this developing story.
