Fake Kroger coupon heats up online

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – How many times have you heard this?

“If it seems too good to be true then it probably is.”

That’s what some social-media savvy shoppers are running into after finding a “Kroger coupon” floating around Facebook.

The coupon promises 40 percent off all purchases in the store.

That’s a pretty big discount, especially since it’s fake.

Kroger officials say you should avoid the websites that link to that coupon and don’t give out any personal information to those sites.

The company says their tech people are working with Facebook to get the fake coupons taken down.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
