Statewide gas prices fall 7 cents in past week to $1.83

LANSING, Mich. (AP/WLNS) – AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have decreased by about 7 cents in the past week.

The auto club says the statewide average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $1.83 per gallon on Sunday. That’s about 43 cents less than it was at the same point last year.

The lowest average price was about $1.72 per gallon in the Lansing area, while the highest average was about $1.96 per gallon in the Marquette area.

Gas price monitoring website GasBuddy.com says the price of gas in the Lansing area fell 14.3 cents per gallon in the past week.

That drop in price means the average in Lansing is 48.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 29.1 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

The national average has decreased 8.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 39.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
