DeWitt Twp. Police warning of package thefts

DEWITT TWP., MI (WLNS) – DeWitt Township Police are asking you to keep watch in your neighborhood for any suspicious activity.

That’s after at least three recent incidents of attempted or actual package thefts.

The first reported incident was on December 1. DeWitt Twp. Police received calls that a white woman was trying to steal packages after they had been delivered by UPS, FedEx and other services. Callers told police the woman was driving a blue Chevrolet truck.

Michigan State Police handled an attempted package theft on December 9. A resident saw a white woman, about 35 years old with a medium to heavy build trying to steal a package. The woman left quickly in a white Cadillac Seville.

A third incident happened on Thursday, Dec. 10 on Hidden Springs Trail, near Howe and Schavey Roads. That’s where DeWitt Twp. Police say a package was reported lost or stolen. Police are not sure whether the package was delivered Wednesday or Thursday.

If you see suspicious activity in your neighborhood, do not hesitate to call 911.
