Scarves, hats, gloves left in Bay City park for homeless

BAY CITY, Mich. (AP) — Scarves, hats and gloves have been left in a Bay City park for the homeless and others needing to keep warm.

The Bay City Times and our media partners at MLive report that some of the items were found Wednesday hanging or wrapped around light poles and trees in Wenonah Park.

A note read: “I am not lost. If you are cold, wear me.”

It was signed: “Bay City Cares.”

Keith Coburn tells the newspaper he took a scarf from a tree to help keep warm when riding his bike around the city.

Coburn calls the donor “a really nice person.”

The newspaper reports that Bay City resident Trish Geyer organized the effort.
