Mid-Michigan Physicians car crash suspect uncooperative in court

MASON, MI (WLNS) – The suspect in Wednesday’s Mid-Michigan Physicians building car crash was scheduled to be arraigned via a video screen Friday, but the day in court did not go quite as planned.

Police and witnesses say Derrick Carter intentionally smashed his car into the Mid-Michigan Physician’s building on Wednesday morning.

As the charges against him were read, our 6 News crew in court said Carter was being uncooperative.

The proceedings were suspended because the man was being disruptive.

Lansing Twp. Police Chief Kay Hoffman said the arraignment is now scheduled for Saturday morning.

6 News will continue to follow this story and provide updates when they are available.
