LANSING, MI. (WLNS) – A meeting will take place Wednesday in Lansing, where a committee to ban fracking in Michigan will gather in hopes of collecting signatures for their cause.
They’re looking for support for their 2016 ballot initiative which aims to ban fracking in Michigan.
Hydraulic Fracturing is the process of drilling and injecting fluid into the ground at high pressure to fracture rocks and release natural gas.
Expect to see committee members outside of the Secretary of State office near the Frandor Shopping Center in Lansing.
The committee needs to collect 250,000 signatures to begin the process of putting the issue in front of voters.
