Armed robbery & car break-in keep police busy overnight

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – It was a busy night for police officer in Lansing and East Lansing.

Just after 1:00 a.m. today East Lansing Police were called to the University Villa apartments on the 600 block of Forest Stret.

They thought they were responding to an armed robbery call but when they got there they realized a car had been broken into and several items had been stolen from inside the vehicle.

Witnesses told police they saw several people gather around the car.

Officers did make a couple of arrests but say they are still looking for one suspect.

Several police departments in the mid-Michigan area have reported an increase in vehicle thefts and remind people to lock their car doors.

In Lansing an armed robbery call turned out to be the real thing.

Just before midnight Lansing Police went to the Quality Dairy on the 700 block of West Jolly Road.

Employees there told police a woman came into the store with a weapon, demanded money and then took off running.

Nobody was injured during the robbery and the search continues for the suspect.
