Police investigation causes afternoon scare near Sexton

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – A police investigation near Sexton High School caused an afternoon scare Tuesday.

It happened Tuesday afternoon in the 100 block of Lahoma.

Students walking home from Sexton were diverted due to the investigation. Lansing Police and public safety officers were on scene to assist students. The Lansing School District put out this information via their Facebook page.

Lansing Police say they were called to a home on Lahoma for a break-in. When officers arrived on scene they found several people fighting. Some of the people fighting ran when they saw police.

A witness told police one of the people fighting may have a gun. Police were able to track that person down, but did not find a gun. The same person was arrested on outstanding warrants.

The scene has been cleared, according to the Lansing Police Department.
