Movember: Eaton Rapids Police officers drop razors, raise donations

EATON RAPIDS, Mich (WLNS) – If you get into Eaton Rapids this month keep an eye out for some scruffy looking police officers.

And that’s a good thing.

Some officers there are participating in the “No Shave November” event to call attention to men’s health issues.

Participating officers are making donations to the Eaton Rapids Medical Center Foundation in exchange for the relaxed facial hair restrictions.

Eaton Rapids Police Chief Larry Weeks tells 6 News that this is the second year for the effort and he’s hoping to grow (pun intended) the donations this year.

Chief Weeks says he has at least six officers participating this year and some nice looking goatees starting to show.

6 News is working on getting some photos to share from the Eaton Rapids Police Department so we can all watch their progress.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
