MASON, MI (WLNS) – The streets of Mason will be without the annual Veterans Day parade Wednesday.
That’s because it’s been canceled for this year.
However, there will be still other observances.
Noland Douglass has helped coordinate the parade for years and tells us because of health problems, he decided to take a year off.
The city still plans to salute the brave men and women who fought for our country during a memorial event at the courthouse beginning at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
The event will be put on by both the local American Legion and the VFW.
After the memorial there will be an open house at the VFW hall in town.
Douglasss wife says not to worry, and that there’s already lots of interest to hold a parade for next year.
