LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – A new program last year proved it’s never too young to start saving for college.

It was so successful it’s back for an encore.

The city of Lansing will be launching the program SAVE, which stands for Student Accounts Valuing Education.

Last year more than 350 kindergarten students in Lansing schools had an education account from MSUFCU opened in their name.

This year 550 more kindergarteners will be joining the program.
