BATTLE CREEK, Mich (WLNS) – A $5,000 reward is being offered after a cat survived being shot through the neck near Battle Creek.
The reward is being offered by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in an effort to find the person responsible for the attack.
Our media partners at MLive are reporting that Laurie Sullivan found the cat last week with a crossbow bolt through his neck.
The bolt had penetrated the upper skin of his neck and Benjamin Huelsbergen at Turner Veterinary Center removed it a week ago.
He says the cat’s prognosis is “excellent.”
Last month a cat in Eaton County was also shot with a crossbow bolt.
“Booger” the cat was shot through the chest but has recovered from the wound.
A reward has also been offered by the Capital Area Humane Society for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the shooting.
