One airlifted after car crash into tree

LEROY TWP., MI (WLNS) – One person had to be airlifted after crashing into a tree Friday afternoon.

It happened around 2:25 p.m. Friday along Searls Road, south of Frost Road.

Officials say a 28-year-old Webberville man was driving on Searls Road when he crashed into a tree, injuring his lower body.

The man had to be airlifted to Sparrow Hospital.

The driver was the only person in the car and there were no other cars involved.

Officials do not believe speed was a factor in the crash.

The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
