Prevailing Wage supporters will speak out for veterans

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Michigan war veterans who currently work in the construction industry will speak out in support of the state’s Prevailing Wage laws.

The 50-year-old law requires workers on state-financed government construction projects to be paid local wage and benefit rates, which are based on union contracts.

Opponents of the law have been fighting for a repeal and last month turned in more than 390,000 signatures to send a petition to the state legislature.

Monday, war veterans who support the law will be taking their fight to the Engineers Monument 1:00 p.m.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
