Guilford family attorneys expected to speak publicly

UPDATED STORY: Deven Guilford’s family files lawsuit against Sgt. Frost, Eaton County

EATON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – Back in August the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office released the results of their investigation into the officer-involved shooting death of a teen.

The investigation found Sgt. Jonathan Frost had acted in compliance to regulations when he shot and killed 17-year-old Deven Guilford on the night of February 28.

For the first time since those results came out the attorneys for Guilford’s family will speak publicly.

In June Eaton County Prosecutors decided not to charge Sgt. Frost.

They reached this decision after watching this police dash-cam video, showing both men getting into a physical fight, following a traffic stop.

Prosecutors said they had enough support from the footage, to claim Frost acted in self-defense.
