Dole recalling select bags of spinach in 13 states

MONTEREY, Calif. (WLNS) – Dole Fresh Vegetables is recalling select bags of spinach.

The recall is being voluntarily issued due to a concern of Salmonella.

Dole says no illnesses have been reported at this time.

Recalled bags include Dole Spinach marked with codes “A27409B” and “A27409A” with enjoy by date of October 15 and UPC 7143000976.

The recall is precautionary after a random sample test by the Michigan Dept. of Agriculture and Rural Development; Laboratory Division found a positive result for Salmonella in a Dole spinach bag.

Recalled spinach was distributed in Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.
