Bonnie Bucqueroux, social activist & MSU journalism prof, has died

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Bonnie Bucqueroux, a longtime area activist and Michigan State University journalism professor, has passed away. She was 70.

Bucqueroux worked for MSU’s School of Journalism for 29 years but was absent for most of the semester due to illness.

She was known around the area as a social activist against things like domestic violence and eating disorders.

Bucqueroux also previously served as the executive director of the Michigan Victim Alliance.

She is survived by her husband Drew Howard.

Her Facebook page has been flooded with tributes from friends, acquaintances and former students.
