Officials searching for person who started fire in Ionia Fairgrounds bathroom

IONIA, MI (WLNS) – The Ionia Department of Public Safety is searching for the person responsible for starting a fire in a women’s bathroom at the Ionia Fairgrounds.

Officials believe the fire was set sometime between October 2 – 5.

The damage was discovered on Monday, October 5. The Ionia Dept. of Public Safety says the suspect(s) broke a padlock on the door and then entered the building.

Inside the bathroom there is heat and smoke damage. Luckily the fire burned itself out .
