“It’s a Breast Thing” returns to Lansing

LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Thanks to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, $400,000 is headed to the University of Michigan to help with breast cancer research.

The grants will fund research on drug-resistant tumors and new therapies to treat the disease.

Locally financial support is going to breast cancer patients in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton and Shiawassee Counties thanks to an event Tuesday night called “It’s a Breast Thing.”

The annual fundraiser at the Eagle Eye Golf Club takes place on the first Tuesday of October which is breast cancer awareness month.

Hundreds of people attended Tuesday night. The event included 14 health related exhibits, 30 decorated bras and the most up-to-date information from local doctors.
