CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – Sheriff’s officials in Calhoun County say two more cars have been damaged in the same area as a string of recent reports.
Both of the latest incidents happened Wednesday along M-66. Officials confirmed one car was hit by gunfire.
One happened near “O” Drive in South Athens. The other happened between Pennfield and Morgan Road in Pennfield Township.
The first damage report came in around 4:15 p.m.
The next one happened about 15 minutes later.
Sheriff’s officials say one of the cars had damage from a firearm, but nobody was injured.
There are nearly two dozen recent reports of windows being shattered while drivers are heading along parts of I-69 and I-94 in Branch, Calhoun and Eaton Counties.
Police have confirmed that three of those cars were also damaged by gunfire.
Officials have been investigating the damage reports since the reports started coming in back in August.
