Volkswagon officials ask consumers to be patient amid controversy

(WLNS) – First came exposure then an apology followed by the CEO getting fired.

Now Volkswagen officials are asking consumers to be patient while they work to fix their software.

The company is facing some hefty legal challenges after it was revealed that a
Volkswagen used software allowed its vehicles to cheat on American emissions tests.

The automaker has set aside more than seven billion dollars to pay for the scandal.

Some analysts say it could cost $20 billion to bring its vehicles into compliance with American standards without losing performance.
