Former gymnastics coach charged with criminal sexual conduct

EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) – A former gymnastics instructor in Delhi Township is facing six counts of criminal sexual conduct after police say he had an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old girl.

East Lansing Police say they’ve been investigating 26-year-old Mikael Frutin for more than a year.

Frutin was an instructor at Red Cedar Gymnastics.

Officials say none of the crimes he’s charged with happened there, but the crimes did involve one of his students.

Frutin was arrested in Los Angeles earlier this month.

The Michigan State Police and U.S. Marshal’s office helped East Lansing Police in the case.

Frutin is being held without bond.
