(WLNS) – Nearly a dozen Michigan schools have been added to the “struggling” list and now the state is getting involved.
The Treasury Department will now oversee the finances of the listed districts, which include
Flint and Mount Clemens schools.
According to the lists, 11 districts have been operating with deficits for more than five years.
Moving forward, districts will now have to submit a detailed plan to climb out of their financial hole.
Before the announcement was made yesterday the department was already overseeing five school district, including Detroit.
