Jackson area law is on the run for Special Olympics

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – Athletes with special needs are the focus in Jackson today.

That’s where local law enforcement officials are putting on their running shoes for a good cause.

Starting at 10 o’clock this morning officials will host the “Jackson Area Law Enforcement Torch Run” which raises money for Special Olympics athletes.

Today’s run is taking place at the Kit Young Center off West Parnall Road and is 1 of 42 “torch runs” scheduled this month.

The community is welcome and encouraged to participate as well.

A $25 donation for Special Olympics puts you on the starting line.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
