Shot fired, police ID suspects in Meridian Twp.

UPDATE (4:20 p.m.) – Police say two men are being held at the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office. They are expected to be arraigned on Friday. 6 News will provide updates as soon as we receive more information.

UPDATE (2:59 p.m.) – Meridian Township Police said on their Facebook page the suspects involved have been identified. Officials also say the community is not in danger.

UPDATE (8:47am) – Meridian Township police are continuing the search for a suspect they say may have been connected to a shot being fired early this morning. But they now believe the suspect has left the immediate area. Schools near Cornell and Haslett Roads are still on lockdown but police expect that to be lifted shortly.

MERIDIAN TWP, Mich (WLNS) – Meridian Township Police are searching for a man who may be armed after a shot was fired in the area of Cornell Road and Haslett Road.

The man is described as about 5’8″ tall, wearing a fedora, dark clothing and carrying a backpack.

Schools in the area have been locked down as a safety precaution.

6 News has a crew on the scene and will have updates online and on 6 News.
