Ohio Gov. John Kasich brings White House bid to Lansing

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Another presidential candidate made a stop in mid-Michigan Tuesday.

Ohio Governor John Kasich spoke at a meeting of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, highlighting his record in business and government.

The Republican also shared his positions on other key issues in the 2016 presidential campaign.

This was Kasich’s second stop in mid-Michigan since announcing his run for the White House.

“It’s kind of early in the process and it’s a natural place for me to go. It’s so much like our state of Ohio, and I’m comfortable here. And I think it’s important for a lot of candidates over a great number of years to be able to come here and do well in Michigan,” explained Kasich.

Members of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce say they will continue to reach out to candidates as the 2016 presidential election approaches.
