2 people wounded in overnight shootings in Jackson

JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – Two people are recovering in the hospital today from gun shot wounds and Jackson Police are searching for the people who put them there.

According to police both shootings happened this morning and are believed to be unrelated.

Apparently the call for the first shooting came in around 2:00 a.m. today.

A neighbor reported hearing gun shots in the 600 block of Stewad Avenue. Within minutes of arriving the responding officer found a man in the 800 block of Foote Street with a gunshot wound to the leg.

That victim is a 27-year-old Jackson man.

About a half hour later a 27-year-old woman showed up at Allegiance Health with a gunshot wound to the leg.

She told police she was shot in the 800 block of West Mason Street.

Both victims are being treated at Allegiance and both are expected to survive their injuries.

Jackson police say no arrests have been made.
