JACKSON, Mich (WLNS) – Brandon Mann, 30, was sentenced today by Judge John McBain for 60-90 years in prison for second degree murder.
Clayton Orange, 60, was killed on October 19, 2014. According to testimony today, Orange was frail and had advanced COPD.
In contrast, Judge John McBain described Mann as tall, strong and powerful.
On October 19, 2014 Mann and Orange had been drinking together, got into a fight and, according to statements made in court by Judge McBain, Mann knelt over Orange and repeatedly “pounded” him.
Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka said in court that Mann strangled Orange for approximately three minutes.
Mann and Orange had been friends for many years.
Mann was also sentenced to 2 additional years in prison for felony possession of a firearm for a total sentencing of 62-92 years.
He will be 92 years old when he is eligible for parole.
