LANSING, MI (WLNS) – We stay in the CAAC Red for our next stop on the two-a-days train. Heading west to visit the warriors from Lansing Waverly.
Anthony Walker is entering his 4th season as Waverly’s head coach and says the warriors are pretty young this year, but are returning 5 players on each side of the ball.
The Warriors are trying to build off of last season’s 3-and-6 record and even though their only in the second week of practice, one thing is starting to stand out.
“I like our confidence level. It’s gone up a lot since last season. A lot of guys are coming out here with a lot more focus and more energy and it’s something that we really wanted to emphasis this season and uh they’re doing a good job at it,” said Tyler Mojet, Waverly Senior Running Back.
Reporter: “Why do you think that is?”
“We just came together and we told ourselves that you know we want to better ourselves and we just want to have a great season for ourselves and we’re not trying to prove to anybody else but ourselves.”
Reporter: “What excites you about this new season?”
“The hard work we’re putting in. The guys are working hard and uh it’s our goal this year to get better every day,” said Anthony Walker, Waverly Football Coach, fourth season.
