EAST LANSING, MI (WLNS) – Our first 5th quarters of the new season are a week from Thursday and a week from Friday. Back on the Two-A-Day Train is our next stop, East Lansing High School.
The Trojans are busily preparing for the opener a week from Friday against St. Johns. The music is cranked up at every practice and even basketball coach Steve Finamore is hanging around to help out his buddy Bill Feraco, now in his 12th season running the Trojans.
Feraco has a new beard but the same old enthusiasm as his team tries to bounce back from 2 straight losing seasons and a very uncustomary 1-and-8 campaign in 2014.
Reporter: “Did last year stick in your craw?”
“Oh yes, you know, we continue to think about last year a lot. You know we use it as fuel for our fire to continue to get better .We know we have a lot of work to do so you know we plan on to continue and have a better season this year,” said B.J. Powell, East Lansing sr. wide receiver.
“We have some experience coming back but by the same token there are some spots where we are a little bit young, so you know it’s in that in-between point right now where we want to see how the young kids have come along and how much leadership can be generated by the older kids,” said Bill Feraco, East Lansing football coach, 12th season.
