WATCH: Dashcam video of gas explosion blowing up house

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – Thankfully it’s not very often you hear about a house exploding in mid-Michigan.

And it’s even more rare to get that caught on video.

6 News got a hold of Lansing Fire Department dash-cam video that shows just that.

The video is from two weeks ago at a home on the 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

It all started when an SUV hit a red car sending that car flying into the home, and severing a gas line.

That started a fire.

Fire fighters moved quickly to evacuate five nearby homes.

Luckily no one was hurt.

It was a close-call though, because two fire fighters had just left the home just moments before it exploded.

Police are still trying to find the driver of the SUV.
