NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN/WLNS) – Pop star Meghan Trainor has been forced to cancel the rest of her tour due to a health issue.
According to a statement from the 21-year-old performer, she will have to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal cord.
“Sadly, I will need to cancel the remainder of my tour and get surgery to finally fix this once and for all. I am devastated and so sorry,” Trainor wrote, adding, “I love touring and seeing
your beautiful faces every night. I am determined to do what it takes to get better and come back stronger than ever.”
Trainor had more than a dozen performances scheduled, including a stop at The Fillmore Detroit.
According to Ticketmaster, refunds will be given to those fans who previously purchased tickets.
Trainor was supposed to be the opening night headliner for this year’s Common Ground Festival in Lansing, but canceled because of continued treatment for her vocal chords.
Common Grounds organizers began processing refunds for Trainor tickets on July 20.
Trainor’s hit songs include, “All About that Bass,” “If Your Lips are Movin’” and “Dear Future Husband.”
