Sword-wielding Lansing man gets prison time

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– A man who threatened paramedics with a sword is heading to prison.

Wednesday, Judge Aquilina sentenced 31-year-old Michael King to two years to six years in prison for assault with a dangerous weapon.

Lansing police say on Jan. 27, Michael King threatened paramedics with a sword while they were helping a man who had a seizure at his home.

The two paramedics were able to escape the home without injury and with their patient in tow.

Officers returned to the home to arrest Michael King.

During the arrest, police also arrested 30-year-old Tommy King for obstructing officers and possessing an unlawful weapon.
