Deputy sued after handcuffing schoolchildren

(WLNS) – The ACLU is suing a Kentucky school district and a local sheriff’s deputy after a video was released and went viral.

The video shows Deputy Kevin Sumner handcuffing a 8-year-old boy in school.

After that video went viral another mom has come forward saying Sumner handcuffed her daughter on two separate occasions.

The lawsuit says the children, who had existing emotional issues, have suffered even more because of it.

However, Sumner’s attorney says the children were handcuffed because they were putting themselves and other students in danger.
