Gas prices continue to slide

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have fallen by about six cents over the past week.

The Dearborn-based auto club says the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline was about $2.55 per gallon on Sunday, about 96 cents less than at the same point a year earlier.

According to the club, gas prices in Michigan have fallen by at least six cents for four straight weeks.

According to the gasoline price tracking website the average price of a gallon of gas in Lansing and Jackson is $2.58. Some stations are showing prices as low as $2.26 per gallon.

GasBuddy experts project the price of a gallon of gas could dip below $2 before the end of this year.
