UPDATE 11:05 a.m. – The defense and prosecution met briefly today to make sure they had the same evidence. They will meet again in court Monday to present that evidence to the judge.
BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WLNS) – Police say he killed his aunt and today the case against him is expected to move forward in court.
Brian Elliott is facing life behind bars.
According to police he killed Maxine Friend inside her Blackman Township home back in May. He is due in court today for a hearing.
Doctors say Friend died of head trauma.
In addition to the open murder charge Elliott is also facing two counts of assault with intent to rob. According to police he assaulted a woman and her 4-year-old granddaughter at a Meijer store several hours before Friend’s body was discovered.
Court records show Elliott has previously served time behind bars for four counts of unarmed robbery.
