Lap of Love offers comfort, hospice care for terminally ill pets

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – It’s never easy to say goodbye, but it’s a very real scenario for all pet owners.

Our sister station WKRN reports a veterinarian in Middle Tennessee is offering a comforting option for people and pets when there’s no other choice but to let them go.

Dr. Suzanne Gibson provides end of life care for animals, and her mission is to make the hardest moments manageable.

Gibson comes to the family’s home, visits with them and their pet, and then provides in-home euthanasia for a more comforting ending.

“There’s a lot less anxiety because you are in a familiar surrounding,” she told News 2.

The company she works for, Lap of Love, also consults with owners who may be trying to decide if it’s the right time to go.
