LANSING, MI (WLNS) – You may want to call ahead if you are in a hurry to send letters or packages through the U.S. Post Office.
Several years ago USPS announced it was closing dozens of facilities nationwide in order to save billions of dollars in costs. One facility on the chopping block is the distribution center on Collins Road in Lansing.
The move is expected to delay mail and eliminate some shipment options. The closure is on the agenda for the Tri-County Regional Planning Commission who will meet later today.
While the distribution center may close the post office will stay open.
