UPDATE: Prison awaits man who fired shots at police

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP, Mich (WLNS) – A man who fired shots at officers is heading to prison.

A judge Wednesday sentenced Timothy Arrington to at least 18 months in prison for the January 3 incident.

Michigan State Police said Arrington fired a rifle at an officer who arrived at his Meridian Township home for a domestic assault call.

The officer returned fire and called for backup.

No one was hurt.

Arrington previously pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, wearing body armor during a violent crime, domestic violence and possession of firearms while under the influence.
