(WLNS) – Four years after the shooting death of Michael Adams, the man who police say pulled the trigger is scheduled to appear in court.

The suspect is 41-year-old Herbert Alford. He is facing open murder and two other felonies.

Police say Alford shot and killed Adams in a parking lot on Pleasant Grove near Holmes Road in Lansing back in 2011. Officials were given a description of Alford’s car the day of the shooting and found it abandoned later that week. Alford has been the main suspect since then and authorities finally found him hiding out near Detroit in May.
