‘Zoo Days’ brings crowds to Potter Park Zoo

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS)– One of the busiest days for Potter Park Zoo is here.

Zoo Days returned Wednesday morning. Hundreds of families filled the zoo to take advantage of the special $1 admission rate and free parking, which runs through 6 p.m. In a Facebook post, Potter Park Zoo said so many people turned out Wednesday, some guests had to park in the overflow lot.

During Zoo Days, visitors can enjoy a variety of activities while learning about the animal. Wednesday, public safety officers offered free car seat inspections to visitors.

Guests must pick up a voucher at participating Meijer stories to get the $1 admission rate for Zoo Days.

Although this was the final scheduled Zoo Day of the year, Potter Park Zoo is planning to offer free admission to Lansing and Ingham County residents on Saturday, Oct. 3. Regular parking rates will apply.
