AUBURN HILLS, MI (WLNS) – Another university in Michigan has ignored the state’s three percent tuition cap.

Trustees at Oakland University in Auburn Hills voted Tuesday to increase tuition 8.5 percent. The university says that will bring $12 million more in revenue. Breaking that down, that is $11,500 every year for a full-time student.

Officials at Eastern Michigan University voted last month to raise their tuition by 7.5 percent.
