Boil water advisory for city of Albion

ALBION, MI (WLNS) – For those living in the city of Albion, you are advised to boil your water.

A water main break may have caused bacterial contamination in the city’s water supply.

Officials are currently working on the problem.

The affected areas include: W. Erie St. from Gale St. to Finley Dr., south on Finley Dr. to Irwin Ave. east on Irwin to Luther Dr. including Cram Lane.

Residents of these areas are advised to boil water for one minute and let it cool before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and preparing food. If you do not feel safe using boiled water, you’re encouraged to use bottled water until further notice.

The problem is expected to be resolved within 72 hours. The city of Albion says customers will be notified when the boil water advisory has been lifted.
