One person hospitalized after Lansing house fire

LANSING, Mich (WLNS) – A Lansing teenager is being treated in a local hospital after fire hits a home on Lansing’s south side.

Firefighters were called to the 4700 block of Bristol Street just after 8:30 a.m. when smoke was reported coming from the house. When they arrived flames were visible.

According to officials there were eight people in the house and all got out safely. One 14-year-old was taken to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. Two other people were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

The eight people who had been living in the house will not be able to return for now. It’s not know at this time what caused the fire.
