EATON COUNTY, MI (WLNS) – In a push to help local law enforcement officials help our area’s children, two local radio stations will be launching the Teddy Bear Posse.

94.1 Duke-FM and 92.9 WLMI-FM are starting a campaign to collect new teddy bears and stuffed animals for the Lansing Police Department and both Eaton and Ingham County Sheriff’s Departments.

Officers from these agencies will use the teddy bears to comfort small children involved in traumatic situations.

Anyone can donate stuffed animals at the Two Men and Truck collections boxes at Applebee’s Restaurants, Biggby Coffee locations, NCG Cinemas, Option One Credit Unions and Shaheen Chevrolet.

Already more than 1,000 stuffed animals have been donated.

We welcome thoughts and comments from our viewers. We ask that everyone keep their remarks civil and respectful. Postings that contain profanity, racist, or potentially libelous remarks will be deleted. We will delete any commercial postings, as well.
