‘Christmas in July’ event seeks to break caroling record

FRANKENMUTH, Mich. (AP) – An attempt is planned next month in Frankenmuth to break the Guinness World Record for caroling during a “Christmas in July” event.

Our media partners at MLive report that Family Life Radio, St. Lorenz Church and School, Tri-Star Bank and Bronner’s Christmas Wonderland are teaming up to set the record for the most people caroling.

Organizers are looking for volunteers to help in the effort. The current record was set in 2013 when more than 1,800 people sang carols in unison.

Carolers arrive at St. Lorenz Church at 1 p.m. on July 25, with the first 2,500 over the age of 8 receiving a free T-shirt The group must sing carols at 10 or more homes on at least two separate streets. The event is planned rain-or-shine and could take several hours.
